The collaborative project with Qualy and Soi Dog, titled MATHRYOSHKA, brings together the expertise of Qualy, a plastic factory specializing in creating sustainable products, art toys, and decorations using recycled plastic, and Soi Dog, a foundation dedicated to helping stray dogs and cats in Thailand by providing necessary care, vaccinations, and sterilization. Inspired by Russian dolls, MATHRYOSHKA aims to address the issue of stray dogs in Thai alleys and the unfortunate abandonment of pets at temples. The project is driven by the Thai idiom 'ตัดหางปล่อยวัด,' which, when translated directly, means 'Cut the tail, Release the temple' but figuratively implies giving up on someone or letting go.
CAMPAIGN CONCEPT
The MATHRYOSHKA campaign stands as a collaborative endeavor between Qualy, the innovative plastic factory, and Soi Dog, the compassionate stray dog foundation. Inspired by the poignant issue of stray dogs abandoned at temples in Thailand, this project seeks to create awareness and inspire positive action. Rooted in the Thai idiom 'ตัดหางปล่อยวัด,' MATHRYOSHKA brings attention to the struggle of pets left behind and the imperative need for responsible pet ownership. Crafted as an art toy, MATHRYOSHKA presents a symbolic fusion of a dog's silhouette and Buddha's serene visage. The four arms represent the crucial steps of Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Return (CNVR) in stray dog management. Opening the top reveals a poignant scene—a litter of puppies, shedding light on the underlying issue of stray dog breeding. Be a part of our mission to raise awareness among people as we strive to promote compassion, responsibility, and positive change for our four-legged friends
